The Battle Of Maria Antonia

In 1968, in the year in which almost everything seemed to happen, there was a confrontation, at Maria Antônia street, in São Paulo, between students of the Philosophy School of USP and students of the Mackenzie College. In addition to the fire and destruction of the USP building, one High School student was killed. It was not a mere student fight, but almost a miniature reproduction of the Cold War, which was fought then between the left and the right. To remember that moment is not a nostalgia act, but the attempt of understanding something about the forces which shaped our present.
