DEFIANT
Documentário | 90 min | Coraci Ruiz e Julio Matos
Suzy is the mother of many children. A trans and black woman from the periphery, her mission is to fight transphobia in Campinas, the last Brazilian city to abolish slavery. In 2024 she decided to take a bigger step: to run for councillor. Through an intimate portrait of her life and campaign, we learn about the difficulties, joys and sorrows of doing politics without being a traditional politician, in a country that is averse to dissident bodies.
