Over the years, Laboratório Cisco has become a project factory.
We spend a good part of our time and neurons coming up with ideas, writing scripts and looking for funding. The projects below are those that, somehow, have already left the drawing board and are starting to come to life.
Iridescent
By Coraci Ruiz and Julio Matos
In a small and old house in the central region of Campinas, six trans and transvestite women live together and struggle to survive. Coming from different backgrounds, they have in common a history of family rejection, having lived on the streets and a decisive meeting with Suzy Santos, creator of Casa Sem Preconceitos. By portraying life in a collective, the film breaks with stereotypes and gives depth to marginalized characters in society.
Project selected by the AlterCine Foundation.

Coup in 3 Acts
By Hidalgo Romero
The film, screened at script labs Labex and Ficviña, tells the political history of Brazil between 2016 and 2019, the period in which President Dilma Rousseff was impeached and Jair Bolsonaro's first year in office. A well-orchestrated coup against democracy, executed in three phases, which went far beyond the inauguration of a democratically elected president. In the light of concepts such as Liquid Authoritarianism and lawfare, the work traces a parallel narrative between Brazil and Latin America at the beginning of the 21st century, while articulating a series of archival materials and interviews with the main Latin American political leaders of that period.
Masquerades, revelers and partygoers
By Coraci Ruiz and Hidalgo Romero

Da Nascente à Foz - Season 2
By Hidalgo Romero
"Da Nascente à Foz - Season 2" is a road series that follows the course of some of Brazil's main rivers from a socio-environmental perspective. How are water resources managed in Brazil? Is water a natural resource that we can enjoy, or is it an asset that we must protect? These questions form the basis of this project which, after a successful first season, is expanding its scope to include seven other major Brazilian rivers.
